Quandela, headquartered in Paris, France has developed a unique semiconductor-based source of quantum light. Quantum light sources (or single-photon sources) are at the core of photonic-based quantum computing systems and quantum communication networks.
Pentagram developed the industrial design of two products for Quandela, a single photon source control unit and the first fully integrated photonic qubit emitter. Further down the line, the team supported Quandela in the development of their first installed quantum computer, unveiled in winter 2023.
With a central role in this project, I was directly responsible for the design and execution of concepts and a full technical development of the numerous products and systems produced by Quandela throughout our several years working with them, as well as liasing and instructing the various fabrication partners for the delivery of the first commercial computer.
